Eliv8 is a group mentoring programme for both KS2, KS3 and KS4 pupils. Its overarching aim is to raise young people’s aspirations, which in turn will support them in managing specific issues that they may be facing. It is an 8-week course which takes place once a week for one hour during a normal lesson period. The group will have a maximum of 8 students in it and the students will all be a part of the same year group.

Eliv8 is aimed at any child or young person that is struggling to engage within school, for whatever reason. This could be due to self-esteem, behaviour, bereavement, loss, challenging home backgrounds or anxieties due to the current pandemic situation.

We are currently running Eliv8 at Holy Trinity School and The Gatwick School. We have also created videos containing Eliv8 resources for schools to share with students.

Christmas and Easter Explored are interactive workshops for children of primary school age. Christmas Explored occurs in the second half of the Autumn term and Easter Explored occurs in the second half of the spring term. Each class of children has the opportunity to explore 5 different ‘story stations’ relating to the Christmas or Easter story. A leader is present at each station and uses storytelling techniques to explain the events that took place. The children also have the space to interact with the story by doing something practical, such as writing down their hopes and dreams on paper palm leaves in relation to Palm Sunday.

These lessons are normally an hour long and either take place in school or at a local church. The lessons end with a song and the children are offered an age-appropriate booklet about Christmas or Easter to take home with them.

We have also been working on a Jesus Explored workshop, so watch this space...

A Christmas Explored video resource was made last year so that schools wouldn't miss out despite the lockdown!

Prayer Spaces in schools enable children, of all faiths and none, to explore questions about life and spirituality. It offers a safe space where children can learn skills of personal reflection and allows them to draw their own conclusion from the experience.

A Prayer Space is normally set up in a classroom sized area and can be used as part of the RE curriculum. It can be set up for a few days or a week.

We provide ad-hoc RE lessons in both primary and secondary schools. These can be question and answer sessions or on a subject that the students are covering in their curriculum, such as ‘What is prayer?’ and ‘What do Christians believe about life after death?’.

‘Esteem’ is a comprehensive relationships and sex education (RSE) programme for secondary schools which supports young people in making wise and healthy choices. This programme covers many subjects including healthy relationships, consent, STIs, social media and the dangers of pornography.
